Herb Seeds – Common Chives Heirloom – Non-GMO – Busy Garden Helper 1,000 Seeds

Considered cousins to garlic, onions and leeks. Planting clumps along your vegetable or flower garden’s edge can positively affect pollination possibilities. Interspersing them between carrots will lead to improved growth and flavor of those favorite orange roots. Tuck chives near cucumber plants and you can say goodbye to a majority of those troublesome cucumber beetles.

Planting Chives: soak seeds overnight before planting for best results. Direct sow – 1/4 inch deep after late frost – full sun – very well-drained soil – keep soil evenly moist.

To harvest, snip the tender green stems periodically throughout the spring and early summer. Once the plant begins to flower, the stems tend to toughen up.
